GUIDING MEN TOWARDS THE GOODNESS AND GRACE OF GOD
OCTOBER 2023 - ISSUE 26
As the days grow shorter and we move towards the holiday season, I’m filled with deep gratitude for the invaluable support you provide. Your generosity enables me to carry out this vital work, and I am continually humbled by the unwavering care and dedication of all those who join me on this journey.
This past year has been one of remarkable moments and profound impact. This year’s goal has been to go “DEEPER STILL.” I have always believed that trust takes time. The trust level is deepening as evidenced by leaders who are seeking me out for guidance, pastors who have scheduled regular meetings, and churches that are learning and implementing the No Man Left Behind Model.
I am honored to update you on the impact our ministry is making, and would also love to share some notable church survey results. I hope you are as encouraged as me—and our entire Man in the Mirror team—over the positive feedback we received!
With Gratitude,
Nate Flynn
Shaping a brighter future for our ministry together!
In May, we conducted our annual church survey to gauge our effectiveness as church strategy consultants. The results did not disappoint. Once again, we found ourselves on the right trajectory. Of the 38,100 men engaged in discipleship among churches supported by an Area Director, 10,200 are participating in spiritual growth activities for the first time. The survey rated our top three services as consultation, encouragement, and resources. Notably, 91% of fully engaged churches described their Area Director as “exceptionally helpful” to them. This feedback is directly attributable to you and many like you.
There are a lot of men who don’t have a clear picture of what it means to be a man, let alone a Christian man. I previously shared with you that several of our partner churches have embarked on a journey together utilizing the BetterMan resource.
We’re nearly halfway through that 11-week journey, and here’s some exciting feedback to report!

At this year’s Reunion I received recognition for five years with Man in the Mirror. My official sign-on date was in October 2018 with a year of training before moving to paid status in October 2019. THANK YOU to everyone who has joined me on this journey. I look forward to the next five years!
This is my Word for the Year in 2023. When we had to postpone two different 10,000 Spiritual Fathers orientations for our fall launch, I was reminded of this word.
The waiting has nothing to do with the initiative, as everyone agrees it is desperately needed. However, people are people, and we only have the capacity for so much. It is easy to push beyond our limits and find ourselves overwhelmed and overburdened.
I am grateful for the wisdom of the two potential host pastors to say "Let's wait." Please pray with me for the right timing and opportunities to raise up mature Christian men in our area as Spiritual Fathers to engage the next generations of men.
I would like to extend A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who had a hand in making our inaugural SoIN Scramble a success. We ended up with 40 golfers and 24 sponsors. One of the biggest goals was to spread synergy for our vision. There were dozens of people who came into contact with our ministry for the first time and learned how we are striving to see men REFLECT HONESTLY, PURSUE GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY, and LIVE VIBRANTLY. Stay tuned for next year's scramble!
